What to wear: to the beach

August 09, 2012

I'm here to finally post my first 'what to wear'. I teamed up with some awesome bloggers (see below) who were already doing this series and I'm so excited. I admit, I'm not completely satisfied with my first outfit since I feel like there's missing something but well, I'm way too obsessed with the book I'm currently reading to do it again haha. (I can't stop reading!)

So according to me; a maxiskirt is kind of a must for the beach. This is the first and only maxiskirt I own (alright, I admit, it's actually a dress but that doesn't really look flattering and it's not even really maxi) but I'm already in love with maxiskirts now. More will definitely follow into my wardrobe. Oh and ofcourse a bikini or bathing suit. I chose not to post pictures of me half-naked since well, I don't want those on the internet. But you can see a tiny little bit of the top, where it's knotted around my neck. I'm really sorry for my savaged legs by the way, mosquitos are killing me.

And now for the background... Uh-oh. Yes, I feel like a total goofball! Since I don't have access to a beach, I just decided to stand alongside my boyfriend's pond. Ain't that smart? So instead of salty water, you get pond water and instead of sand, you get grass.

shirt: H&M - skirt: DEPT - bikini: Primark

Since I don't want to make a total mess of my hair while swimming, I always make a top knot. It kind of stays like that, even if it's wet and it's usually windy at the beach so that fixes that too. Anyway, I'll leave you guys with some 'behind the scenes' shots. Nick couldn't stop making photos of those waterlily's and I couldn't stop taking pictures of his dog, Lex. Ain't he a cutie?

And now you should be on your way to visit these lovely bloggers who are doing this as well.

Jill from Jillybeanstalk

Have fun checking out these wonderful blogs!

  5. Love the waterlilies! Your outfit is so cute and breezy, and is that a swimsuit that crosses int he front? Very cool!

By the way, mosquitos are totally drawn to me. Fortunately, I live somewhere that doesn't get too many mosquitos... but I did get a nasty bite recently that swelled up the size of a grapefruit and spanned halfway around my leg. Yikes. I hope your bites aren't too itchy!

    1. Yes it is! And thank you! And I have that too, they always find ME haha, very annoying! I even have to take pills in the summer or the itch would be out of control, crazy right?

  6. This is a great outfit for the beach! I always wear my hair up too but it still ends up in big knots.
