What to wear to a farmer's market

September 06, 2012

Hey everyone, here I am again with a second what to wear post. I missed out on the previous one (while I was so excited to do 'what to wear to a bonfire) because of my trip to London but here I am again! I don't think we have farmer's markets here (in Belgium), we do have the regular market but that's nothing compared to what I see in pictures as a farmer's market. So what did I do? I just went into my grandpa's yard and stood before some chickens for these shots. It's a shame you can see them in only one picture though, haha.

I think you'll definitely need comfartable, simple clothes for a market, just because. I guess I associate it with farmers and I associate farmers with grass and chickens and pigs and gardening and you know, things that you'll have to move around for or that might get you dirty. So well, a jeans short, the most comfortable thing ever for me. Usually, when I come home, I go upstairs and change in either these shorts or sweat pants. Yeah, I'm sexy and irresistable like that, haha. Also, cherries! I love cherries and aren't they a perfect fit for a farmer's market? I guess I'll just shut up now about this outfit because I have the feeling I'm saying a lot of dumb things.

There are a lot of lovely ladies doing a what to wear post this week, you should totally check them out and say hi.

Nicole from Gypsy in Jasper
Stripes and Sequins from Moose in Chartreuse
Sondra from abhaya
Adriana from Horses of Ares
Lisa from Not ladylike
Sarah from Exploring Woods
Katherine from thinkin' outloud

So what has been going on lately? Not much, since I'm working for two weeks again. My boyfriend has already started school again and it's really weird going from seeing each other every day and always spending the night together to seeing each other twice a week, I hate it. But I am so excited for my school to start! I'm nervously awaiting the 21st, my first day! Well, my first lessons won't be untill the 24th but I just can't wait, I'm finally heading to university! I think I might do a post this weekend about what I'm going to study. So, I'm off now, I'm going to eat some fries! (I refuse to say french fries since I'm from Belgium and you know, fries are from Belgium!!!)
(On another sidenote: excuse me my ravaged legs, this is the result of itchy mosquito bites: a lot of ugly scars, thank God autumn is coming!)

  1. You look adorable (and so do the chickens!!). I love this outfit on you!

My pictures this week were super-duper rushed and, in turn, super-duper goofy and awkward. Oh well. Such is life.

    1. Thank you! And I'm always rushing because my boyfriend wants to get it over quickly haha, so then you get blurry shots, but I kinda like them anyway.

  3. I haven't been to a farmer's market in forever, but this is making want to go! This top is adorable. The best part, though, is definitely the chickens. Also, I think I ramble and say dumb things in every single one of my posts. It's a problem I have.

  4. You win because of the chickens. Even if you weren't at an official market, it doesn't get much more "eat local" than this!!

Love the cute shirt, and the tie in front.

Good luck with your first day of school!
