A new familymember!

April 29, 2013

Ahh, I've been waiting so long to finally post about this but I wanted to make sure it was really going to happen.

WE'RE GETTING A SECOND CAT! Yes, that totally had to be in caps. This might not seem that special to some but in my family, it is. I couldn't even have my first cat a couple of years ago and now we're getting another one!

On one side, we've been thinking a lot about it for some time now because well, sphynxes aren't really ment to be alone and we're not around that much. On the other side, it was a spur of the moment decision when I saw an ad for a cute little available kitty.

Meet the new member of our family: Arthur. He's the total opposite of Laila. She's female, he's male. She's really light, he's dark. She's fat and he's tiny haha. But hopefully they'll have each other to play with now and Laila will lose some weight. We're really curious (and a little anxious) for their reaction but I'm sure they'll settle after a couple of days. Well hopefully from the first minute!

To be clear, we don't have him yet because he can't leave his mother yet. This will happen in about two weeks, I can't wait! We have already visited him though and he's already chipped as well.

(I know some people don't support buying cats from catteries and I stand behind rescuing animals from shelters as well but we've made the decision to keep sphynxes or hairless cats. We do search for a nice home to buy one from and it's even a pretty big investment so we don't go about it lightly. I value your opinions and I hope you will do the same.)

  3. He is SO cute! A friend of mine has two hairless cats as she and her boyfriend are both very allergic. Excited for Laila to have a little friend!
