Free comic book day 2013

May 12, 2013

Last Saturday was Free Comic Book Day. I have to tell you, apparantly I've been living under a rock. I didn't even know that it existed untill this post from Stephanie. This was Tuesday. So I immediately went searching for more info and found out that it even existed in Belgium (but it's only the third year). I could've slapped myself! I was so mad at myself for missing this haha. But I sent out an email to a comic book store (Worlds Ends Comics) and they said they still had some!

Wednesday, my boyfriend and me went to the store and 'some' was an understatement. They still had tons left! When I sent an email, they put the ones I asked for aside for me which was pretty awesome because the star wars comic wasn't available in the store anymore (too bad for my boyfriend haha). So I still ended up with all of these! I didn't left the store without a small purchase either. I bought the first two trade paperbacks from The Walking Dead. I've already read them both (and the free comic book) and they're awesome. I'm superglad with everything I got. (Plus the store and the people working there were really cool as well.)

These were the ones I was really excited for. Unfortunately I still missed out on some but well, that's my own fault. Definitely not missing it next year haha.

I don't really know these (well some I know by name but that's all) but it's still nice I have them.

  2. I probably should have looked into this in my area. I am so glad you got some Walking Dead stuff. That's awesome. I still can't decide if I am going to read the comics past where the show currently is. I don't like watching the show knowing what may happen because I read the comics. Cazz from Nerd Burger swears by the comics though! She said they are so different and much better then the show. If you keep reading them you'll have to let me know what you think.

    1. I think I might read the comics past that point. I feel like I forget the details anyway by the time the series comes out again. At least, that's the case with movies (that I've already read the book of). I've only read these first two but there's already so much difference! I can't tell if they're better than the show (yet) though. But they're pretty awesome! :)

  3. Amazing! I only found out about it a few days before and braved the day of the children's parade in Brighton to squeeze to my local comic book store. I was really worried because I thought there would be lots of queues, considering the types of people in Brighton! But there wasnt and there were still lots of their packs left! xxx
