Book stash!

January 28, 2014

Stash might be the wrong word for it but today I'm showing you all of my books. Most of them are kept in my cheap ikea bookcase (which is already way too small) but I have two other places in my room where I keep a couple of them. I'm not going to go into detail about every book or this would be a very long post but it gives you an impression of what I like. Feel free to make some suggestions!

They're not exactly organized but they're not just randomly placed either. I'll start from the top and work my way down. Also, bear in my mind that I have my kindle as well so I don't have any book I read (by no means).

The top shelf (and 'roof') contains all of the books I still have to read or the ones I want to read again because I don't remember them.

The second shelf consists out of my Dutch books. I don't have that many anymore because I got rid of a lot of them a while ago. I'm planning to replace the translated books with the original ones eventually too. I only want to read Dutch from Dutch writers if that makes sense. I don't like translations!

Favorites: de geruchten, een schitterend gebrek, de helaasheid der dingen, problemski hotel (for Dutch readers; I wrote a review here)

On the third shelf I keep my Harry Potter books and the Divergent series (simply because I had no room anymore). I'm planning to buy the HP books in English as well but for now I'm keeping the old Dutch ones I read when I was younger. My favorite HP book is the Half Blood Prince by the way!

The fourth level has some more series, a couple of young adult novels and a weird scientific book about time. My favorite from this shelf is definitely The Perks of Being a Wallflower!

The one to last shelf has even more series haha, I like to read series! (Sorry for the blurry picture by the way.) A kiss for dying is a really fun book as well! Oh and I prefer the Host over the Twilight series.

Finally, on the bottom I have my John Green collection (still need to read Paper Towns) because I had no room anywhere else haha! Then I have some of my favorite kids books and at the very end a dictionary. My very favorite children book is Zaïna en de zoon van de wind.

I have a couple of Walking Dead comics next to my radio because I like how it looks. I'm slowly but surely collecting these, they're pretty awesome!

The last stack of books is a random one with pretty thick books and a few nerdy ones. From top to bottom: - the Flow paperlovers book
- Beauty by Lauren Conrad
- The art of World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria (yes I know, horrible haha)
- another nerdy one; the Hunger games, the official book with the movie
- three issues of flow
- (oops, only now noticing this one is upside down) Histoire Culturelle de la Wallonie; I received this book when I won the Rotary price for French in my last year of high school

Now tell me, if you could only read one more book for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

  1. Mooie verzameling! Of neen mijn lievelingsboek is Foer met extremely loud and incredebly close! Nja oke, ik zou gewoon niet kunnen kiezen denkik :p

  7. Wow, what a collection, I am officially impressed! :-) I don't have that many books, but I do like the read. The last books that I read were all the Sookie Stackhouse books, the whole Vampire Diaries series, and The Host. So yeah, I definitely have a genre ;-) But I also like a good chicklit.

  8. Coool! You have the same edition of Slam by Hornby as I do! =)

Answer to your question would be: Count Monte Christo. It is the best book I have ever read.

  9. Leuke stash. We hebben enkele boeken gemeen, maar ik ben SUPERjaloers op je John Green-box. Ik heb net 'The Fault in Our Stars' uit. Zo mooi!

  11. Toffe boeken!
